Terms of Service
Last updated: April 21, 2026
1. Who we are
ThreadCast ("ThreadCast", "we", "us") is an independent software project operated as a sole proprietorship under the parent brand Pixel Labs. These Terms govern your use of the ThreadCast browser extension, mobile applications, the website at threadcast.app, and any related services (together, the "Service").
2. Acceptance
By installing the extension, downloading a mobile app, or using the website, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
3. Eligibility
You must be old enough to form a binding contract under the law of your country of residence, and old enough to use Reddit under Reddit's own terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
4. What the Service does
ThreadCast reads Reddit threads aloud using text-to-speech voices supplied by your browser or operating system. The Service includes a queue, sleep mode with ambient audio, per-commenter voice mapping, and similar playback features. Feature availability depends on your platform (Chrome, Android, iOS) and may change as we ship updates.
5. Accounts
The Chrome extension does not require an account. Some features — such as the iOS waitlist, optional Premium and Lifetime plans, and license activation — require you to provide an email address. You are responsible for keeping your email address current and any license key confidential. Notify us at contact@threadcast.app if you suspect unauthorized use of your license.
6. Your content
You own the content you submit to the Service (for example, feedback you send by email, or a URL you ask ThreadCast to read). We do not claim ownership of that content. We may use anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Third-party content
ThreadCast reads content hosted by Reddit. That content is owned by Reddit users and governed by Reddit's own terms and content policies. ThreadCast is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Reddit, Inc. Reddit is a trademark of Reddit, Inc. Your use of Reddit through ThreadCast is still subject to Reddit's terms. Text-to-speech voices are supplied by your browser or operating system and are subject to their own terms.
8. Acceptable use
Use of the Service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. In short: do not use ThreadCast to break the law, circumvent Reddit's rate limits or API terms, infringe someone else's rights, distribute malware, or harass other people. We may suspend or terminate access to any part of the Service that is used in violation of these Terms.
9. Our intellectual property
The ThreadCast name, logo, website design, source code (except where open-sourced under a separate license), and documentation are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not resell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or rebrand the Service.
10. Paid plans
ThreadCast's reader is free. If you purchase a Premium subscription or Lifetime plan, the pricing, billing cycle, and included features are listed on our pricing page at the time of purchase. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider (currently Lemon Squeezy) which is the merchant of record. Every paid plan is covered by our 14-day refund policy. After the refund window, subscriptions continue until you cancel. Cancellation stops future billing but does not refund past billing periods.
11. Changes to the Service
The Service is under active development. We may add, remove, or change features at any time. We will not remove a feature that is the core reason you paid for a plan without offering a reasonable alternative, a credit, or a refund for the unused portion.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every version of every browser, operating system, or Reddit layout change. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable consumer protection law.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ThreadCast will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) USD 50. This clause does not limit liability that cannot be lawfully limited under applicable consumer protection law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold ThreadCast harmless from any claim by a third party arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms. This does not apply where the claim is caused by our own breach of these Terms or by our negligence.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension or app and, if applicable, cancelling your subscription. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we stop offering the Service. We will give reasonable advance notice where practicable, and any prepaid unused portion of a plan will be refunded unless termination is due to your serious breach.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If the changes are material, we will post a notice on threadcast.app and, where we have your email, send you a notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the Service are governed by the laws applicable to you as a consumer in your country of residence. Any such dispute may be brought in the courts competent for your place of residence, in accordance with applicable consumer protection law. Before going to court, we ask that you contact us at legal@threadcast.app so we can try to resolve the matter directly.
18. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours to an affiliate or successor entity (for example, if Pixel Labs is later incorporated). These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Refund Policy, form the entire agreement between you and ThreadCast regarding the Service.
