Background

Longer paragraphs for feature pieces, profiles, or roundups.

On the product

ThreadCast is a Chrome extension (with Android and iOS apps following) that reads Reddit threads aloud. Each commenter is hashed to a consistent voice, so a thread sounds like a real conversation between distinct narrators rather than a monotone wall of text. Four on-device voice engines (System voices, AI neural CPU running in WASM, AI neural GPU Lite and AI neural GPU running on WebGPU) let listeners choose between instant playback and studio-grade quality. Sleep mode layers ambient audio under the narration with a configurable fade-out timer.

On the privacy story

Every voice engine runs entirely on the user's device: no audio, no text, no usage data ever leaves the browser. Optional AI neural engines download their voices once, then run fully offline. ThreadCast collects no analytics on what users read or listen to. There is no account, no sign-up, and no telemetry SDK in the extension or apps.

On the maker

Pixel Labs is an independent studio building tools that should exist. ThreadCast is the studio's current focus: a privacy-respecting, on-device alternative to cloud TTS readers. The team ships small, listens to users directly, and refuses to monetize what is shipped free.

Brand usage

A few quick rules so the brand stays consistent across coverage.

  • Use the wordmark "ThreadCast" as a single word, capitalized "T" and "C", not "Threadcast" or "Thread Cast".
  • Don't recolor, distort, rotate, or place the logo on busy or low-contrast backgrounds.
  • Maintain clear space around the logo equal to at least 25% of its width.
  • When referring to the maker, use "Pixel Labs" as the full name on first mention; "Pixel Labs" on subsequent mentions.
