The marquee upgrade
Studio-grade voices, rendered on your phone.
Premium swaps your phone's system voices for three on-device neural engines. Pick a tier, preview any voice, and assign a distinct one to every commenter, all synthesized locally so nothing you listen to ever leaves the device.
- Lite, Plus, and Studio neural engines
- Eleven distinct English voices at Studio quality
- No cloud, no streaming, no per-character fees
What ThreadCast Premium unlocks: AI voices and MP3 export
Two features in v1.2.0. A roadmap full of more.
Voices
Three on-device AI engines
Premium unlocks Lite, Plus, and Studio, three neural voice engines that run entirely on your phone. No cloud calls, no streaming, no battery hit from constant network round-trips. System voices stay free; Premium adds the engines you'll actually want to listen to for hours.
- AI Lite: the fastest engine, light on battery, with one clear voice for hours of listening.
- AI Plus: five English accents (US, UK, Indian, Australian, and Default), so author-aware narration can give each commenter their own accent.
- AI Studio: eleven voices at the best quality, enabled automatically on phones that can keep up.
- System voices on Android, on every device
- Author-aware narration with System voices
- Unlimited queue + comments + sleep mode
- Offline queue with cached posts and comments
- Full TalkBack screen-reader accessibility
- Lock-screen + Bluetooth + background playback
- Filename:
ThreadCast — <post title>.mp3 - ID3 tags: post title · subreddit · ThreadCast logo as album art
- Thermal-aware throttling, so exports survive long threads on slower phones
- In-app library player with prev / next / 15s skip / auto-advance
Export
Turn any thread into a podcast file
Tap export on any Reddit post in your queue. ThreadCast batch- renders the whole thread with your chosen AI voice and saves an MP3 to your Downloads folder. The native share sheet triggers automatically, so you can send it to WhatsApp, Telegram, Drive, or your podcast app. Listen back inside ThreadCast or anywhere else that plays audio files.
Time-estimate-before-tap shows the expected wall-clock duration so a 200-comment thread doesn't surprise you with a 20-minute wait. If your phone is slow, ThreadCast suggests Lite, and you can override.
What's next
The Premium roadmap
Lifetime buyers get every Premium feature we ship, across the extension, Android, and iOS. Here's what's queued.

Auto-queue top posts from your saved subs overnight. Wake up to a fresh listening queue.
v1.4.0
Cloud sync
Queue, preferences, and listen history sync across every device you use ThreadCast on.
v1.4.0
Offline prefetch

Why on-device
On-device AI voices: your phone is the studio.
Every other AI text-to-speech product ships your text to a server, waits, streams audio back, and bills per character. ThreadCast doesn't.
The neural models live on your phone. The synthesis happens on your phone. The audio you export is rendered on your phone. We can't see your queue. We can't see what you listened to. We literally cannot, because the bytes don't leave your device.
Private by design
No cloud TTS API. No "we promise not to train on your data." No data to train on.
Offline-first
Plane, subway, rural drive: synthesis still works. Only the initial license check needs internet.
No per-character fees
Read a 1000-comment thread or a 5-comment thread. Same price, same battery, your call.
Pick a plan
Monthly to try it. Yearly to settle in. Lifetime if you're sure.

ThreadCast Premium FAQ
Specific to Premium. Broader pricing questions live on the pricing page.
How does activation work after I buy?
After checkout, the confirmation modal shows a button that takes you to threadcast.app/activate with your license key pre-filled. From there: one tap opens the ThreadCast app on Android, which activates Premium across the app. On the extension, the same page validates your key and stores it locally. Same flow whether you bought monthly, yearly, or lifetime.
How many devices can I use one license on?
Three devices on a monthly or yearly subscription. Five devices on a Lifetime license. You can move a license between devices by deactivating from Settings → Premium on the old device and activating on the new one. No support ticket needed.
Do AI voices keep working without internet?
Yes. All three AI voice engines (Lite, Plus, Studio) run entirely on your device, and once installed they synthesize speech offline. The first activation pings our license server; after that Premium works on a plane, in the subway, or anywhere else. The license is re-validated weekly in the background; if you go more than seven days offline, Premium pauses until you reconnect, then resumes automatically.
Should I buy the Lifetime or Yearly plan?
Lifetime pays for itself at year three (yearly × 3 = $117 vs Lifetime $99, or $69 as a Founder Edition if you catch the first 100 spots). It also covers every future Premium feature we ship: cloud sync of your queue and preferences, offline prefetch, subreddit auto-curation, and on-device voice cloning. Monthly is for trying it out; Yearly is the steady choice; Lifetime is for when you know you want this for the long haul.
What does Founder Edition mean?
The first 100 Lifetime buyers get a permanent Founder badge in the app, shown in Settings → Premium on every device you activate, in place of the standard Premium badge. Same Lifetime access as the regular tier (every Premium feature, now and in the future). The Founder badge is our way of thanking the people who backed ThreadCast on launch day, and the mark stays for the lifetime of the product.
What happens to my AI voices if I cancel?
On a subscription, AI voices stop unlocking new sessions once the billing period ends, and you fall back to System voices plus everything else in the free tier (queue, comments, sleep mode, offline queue). Voices you already downloaded stay on your device until you remove them yourself. Re-subscribing reactivates the same voices without re-downloading. Lifetime is one-time, so this is moot.
What is your refund policy?
14-day no-questions-asked refund on every paid plan. Email support@threadcast.app from the address you used at checkout, and we process it the same day.
Why is the extension free but mobile Premium?
Neural inference is far more demanding on a phone than on a desktop: battery, thermal load, and memory pressure. Premium voices on mobile is also a familiar paid category (Speechify, NaturalReader, Pocket Premium). One Premium subscription covers both surfaces, and it includes the upcoming extension Premium features (universal web reader, PDFs, pasted text).
On the fence? The free tier is a complete listening experience.
